I too agree without hesitation that the investigations into the Easter attack have to be expedited and perpetrators be produced before the courts without delay. The ongoing campaigns calling on the government to expedite the process ought to be appreciated as well.
Whatever it is owing to the delay in the
legal processes, people on their own have made up their minds as to who the
criminals were. Further they now believe that the blast was a part of a political
strategy of the power greedy politicians for gaining power.
The Easter attack is not the only massacre
done in Sri Lankan history, in order to gain political power. The racism followed by war against the Tamils
and dissemination of religious extremist ideology were political strategies
deployed by the greedy politicians.
Therefore, the kind of political campaign
needed today is creating awareness in the general public to reject the long
standing culture of political violence along with those politicians who have used
this culture for decades as a political tool to satisfy their selfish interests.
